am i just as creepy as those dudes who are all like 'yeah i like lesbians, it's hot when girls kiss each other, oohh yeah'?

is it okay if i think hot boy-on-boy action is a sexy thing for me to femalely gaze at as long as i actually, like, care about real gay people?

cause those lesbian-appreciating dudes...(speaking as a straight woman whose opinion therefore probably only half-matters, if that) i'd probably be fine with it if they were also making an effort to combat the oppression of women and homosexuals and homosexual women (sounds like a big job, but oh well), when they weren't busy watching them make out. i'm not sure that's the case, generally. i mean people who watch porn, for instance, are bad, exploitative people. :( bad.

but there's nothing wrong with making out. everybody make out. go ahead! yeah. that's right.

i ask because i just hesitated to leeringly share the Onion article you see below on facebook and risk my gay friends seeing me as an exploitative, creepy, gay-sex-watcher ... considering some gay people don't really like being fetishized apparently and what this article kinda does is the classic sexualization of...sexuality? which some people would like to render passe. But at least I'm a liberal! I won't watch gay porn AND campaign against basic human rights...! e.g. the RIGHT to equal protection under the law. Marriage for instance. yes it has ties to religious edifices but if straight folks can get MARRIED by a JUDGE and have it bear the same terminology and carry with it the same rights and responsibilities as straight folks who get MARRIED in a CHURCH, there's just no real reason some people should get that privilege and not others. Plus there are churches who are fine with it so gay folks married in such a church are just as married as straight folks married in that church or any other church. i mean, it's logic. if you believe in religious freedom you must grant the religious freedom to be spiritually and morally positive towards gayness. you can't be like yeah but my church is right and theirs is wrong and their beliefs should be illegal! cause that's fundamentally unAmerican, unless you want to finally admit that all America was about was the freedom to practice one particular specific form of christian religion, or that it had nothing to do with freedom and we don't actually care about freedom now, either. you can't have it both ways. well, you can, obviously, but rational people will try to stop you. so yeah DOMA is dumb-a and it's worth overturning cause institutionalized discrimination in our country's laws is bad for people. it affects relationships, families, daily lives n stuff.

and i like it when men kiss and touch each other. but hey now stop sexualizing my politics!
